We are looking for a post-doc at the Bioinformatics and Experimental Algorithms lab (https://www.algolab.eu) of the University of Milano-Bicocca (Milan, Italy) working on “Efficient algorithms in computational pangenomics”. The main focus is on graph-based representations of pangenomes and their applications to transcriptomics and tumor evolution. The research activity will focus on designing, implementing and analyzing, both from a theoretical and experimental point of views, new combinatorial algorithms for problems for novel alternative splicing event inference and quantification, for pangenome comparison, for evolutionary history construction and comparison. The candidate will be part of the PANGAIA EU-funded project (https://www.pangenome.eu/) and she/he will have the opportunity to collaborate with partners of the project by being seconded to them. There will be an increment of the salary during the visit period to cover the additional expenses.
